Dear colleagues and friends,

After a refreshing three weeks on leave, I am excited to be back and just in time for our Postgraduate Summer School, which kicks off today! Over the next two weeks, our campus will be buzzing with new faces, rich conversations, and shared learning.

Now, onto this slightly delayed but packed edition of our Research and Impact Newsletter. What stands out in this issue is the diversity of contributions and the beautiful web of collaboration running through them. Our graduates are continuing to publish impactful work (see Kerry Curtis and Angela Palmer’s pieces), while staff and students are co-authoring, podcasting, and presenting across a range of contexts. It is particularly uplifting to see so many graduate-staff collaborations taking centre stage, which is a testament to the lasting, reciprocal relationships we foster at IELLI.

We also have some exciting upcoming events. I am especially looking forward to the CILTER launch this Friday (27th June). CILTER is more than just a new research centre; it is a space for collective visioning, and a platform to rethink how we connect research, policy, and classroom practice. The plenary by Lorraine Ow promises to be both timely and thought-provoking. Whether you are attending in person or online, I hope you will join us, with a friend or two!

Beyond that, this issue is rich with opportunities to learn, engage, and contribute: from Yumiko Imanishi’s presentation on project-based learning, to the latest SCT4TL blog interview on Bourdieu, to an open call for book chapters on identity and belonging in education-focused academic careers.

Thanks, as always, for the work you do and the spirit you bring to our community.

Best regards,

Sin-Wang
