CILTER Newsletter 2(9) is published!
Dear IELLI Staff, Students and Friends of CILTER,
This issue has a clear thread running through it: community-building, shared learning, and the ways our work keeps evolving alongside new tools, new research, and new opportunities to contribute.
We’re celebrating the first anniversary of the Japan Cohort Team, a great example of how peer-led spaces can create real belonging for distance learners. We also have two calls for contributions – one for an edited book on the lived realities of the DProf journey, and another for the AILA 2027 symposium on learner autonomy in our increasingly plurilingual, digital, and AI-shaped world.
You’ll also find resources and reflections that speak to how we teach and research: a podcast on the behind-the-scenes of EAP conferences, new corpus tools and materials, and a free Cambridge Element on slang. And I am delighted to share recognition of Sin-Wang’s highly cited papers, as well as a new CILTER page showcasing PGT dissertations!
A mix of community, creativity, and contribution is very much the flavour of this issue.
