Dear IELLI Staff, Students and Friends of CILTER,

This issue brings together a wide range of activity across IELLI and CILTER, reflecting the ongoing work of colleagues contributing to research, professional practice and community events. We share updates from conferences in Tokyo and Xi’an, where staff and DProf candidates presented on topics spanning TBLT, CPD, and AI in ELT, as well as reconnecting with alumni and engaging prospective students.

We also highlight two recent publications that speak to emerging areas of interest in language education research, alongside preparations for the 15th Annual St Andrews EAP Practitioners’ Conference, which will bring together practitioners from across the UK and internationally later this month. In addition, we note the launch of the LSP Hub’s Distinguished Lecture Series and an upcoming ALTAANZ webinar featuring Stefan O’Grady on AI in language education and assessment.

Together, these updates offer a snapshot of the conversations and scholarship shaping our community at this mid-point in the year. Thank you as always to those who have contributed to this issue.

Best regards,

Missy
